Joan was born about 1363 in Axholme, Lincolnshire, England, the daughter of John de Mowbray and Elizabeth de Segrave.

She died on 30 NOV 1402 in Northumberland, England.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was sir Thomas de Tunstall. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.

Her second husband was sir Thomas IV de Grey. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Matilda (1382-1451), sir Thomas (1384-1415), sir John KG (>1384-1421), William (c1388-c1435) and Henry (c1390-c1464).
